Motivational speakers are often people who have seen immense hardships in life, and risen above all their troubles to make something of themselves. While they possess the art of sound storytelling coupled with strong life experiences to back their accounts, the one thing that makes them so convincing is their positive attitude towards life and a joyful eye for things.

Eric Thomas, one of the leading motivational speakers in the world, was a high school dropout and a homeless man. But his undying passion for life is what makes him the most enthusiastic speaker the world has seen. He is nicknamed the Hip Hop Preacher because, as they say, he is as blunt as a rapper.

Nick Vujicic, a man born with no arms and no legs is one of my personal inspirations. His positive outlook towards life is very evident in his book titled, “No legs, No hands, No worries”. He has never let his handicap wear him down. He doesn’t seek pity or sympathy but invokes a sense of power in you that is very rare and very precious. He believes that challenges in life are presented to, in fact, strengthen our convictions and not run us over. Despite his tough life, Nick has an immaculate sense of humor and his talks are not just passionate and stirring but also funny. From him, you learn the outcomes of never giving up or quitting, no matter what you do or how bad the circumstances.

Some of the Indian motivational speakers who never disappoint are Shiv Khera, Deepak Chopra and Naseer Khan, the leading men in this category. While Naseer Khan is known for his ways of personality transformation and increasing productivity, Shiv Khera instills a sense of self-worth and self- reliance in the people. Deepak Chopra, apart from being a motivational speaker is also the co-founder of MaharshiAyur-Veda Products International, a company pioneering in the field of alternative medicine.

However, one doesn’t need to have a tough past to move and motivate the crowd, all you need is an unflinching belief in your dreams and a will to help others achieve theirs too. This is exactly what Tony Robbins is known for. At 6 feet 7 inches, he has a commanding presence in any room and he uses it beautifully to ignite a thirst in you to achieve your desired goal.

In my opinion, you don’t even need to be a motivational speaker by profession to give motivational speeches. Some of the most inspiring people with the most inspiring life experiences to share are just excellent at their own job. They have simply strived hard to achieve their goals and followed their dreams. Take the case of Steve Jobs, he just did what he wanted to in life, and became the best at what he did. When he shares his experiences with the crowd; the way he talks is encouraging and exciting in itself!

To conclude, I quote Arnold Schwarzenegger, a famous actor and motivational speaker, “Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength”

Let the success and greatness of those around you, inspire and ignite the fire in your belly. That is the aim of a motivational talk.
