You’ve just been invited to a formal party and you want to wear a backless dress for the occasion. Then you remember that your back is the last part of your body you want anyone to see – because it is riddled with bacne!
‘Bacne’ are acne on the back, and which are surprisingly resilient and take days to clear. They are caused by the same factors that cause acne on the face, neck, shoulders and arms – unclean skin, overactive oil glands and clogged pores.
However, it is quite easy to treat bacne and prevent their recurrence. Try these simple home remedies and rid yourself of bacne forever:
Scrubs. You can prepare a simple and effective scrub at home, but make sure you don’t rub it very hard on the skin. Take two tablespoons of oatmeal/ table salt/sea salt, and mix with a teaspoon of coconut oil or baby oil. Warm this scrub slightly and then massage it onto the affected area. Wash off the scrub with warm water after 30 minutes. Pat dry and dust with anti-bacterial talcum powder before wearing a loose cotton shirt to let the skin breathe. Use this scrub once every day.
Minty fresh.Take five or six large mint leaves, wash them clean, and grind them to a paste in a little water. Add half a teaspoon of turmeric to this paste, mix well and apply on your bacne. Using this paste every day before your bath will help your bacne subside gradually.Do take care to bathe in cold water after using this paste so that you don’t irritate your skin.
Cinnamon and honey. This combination of ingredients cures a variety of skin problems, but it is particularly beneficial for acne and pimples. Take two tablespoons honey and ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder, and mix well to remove lumps. Apply this mixture evenly across the bacne and leave it on for 30 minutes. Wipe off gently with a wet cloth. This paste both removes the bacteria causing bacne and moisturizes the skin.
Baking soda. This wonder ingredient has many applications in skin care, but you have to use it prudently because it can dry the skin out. Take two teaspoons of baking soda and mix it with a little water to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the bacne and allow it to dry for not more than 10 minutes. Wash off with cold water and apply a mild moisturizer or anti-bacterial cream.
Clove and almond oil. This is a great remedy for bacne, but it should be applied carefully. Mix one teaspoon clove oil to ten teaspoons of almond oil, and warm the mixture over a low flame so that the two oils mix together. Next, take a cotton ball and carefully apply this oil only over the bacne and not on healthy skin. Wash with cold water after an hour.
